Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares returns to Fox: Where to watch new season

Gordon Ramsay's syndicated "Kitchen Nightmares" returns to Fox after a 10-year hiatus.

The popular TV show returns to Fox with a more modern-looking production of the Ramsay classic. This show will join the other cooking shows featuring Ramsay, which already have a spot on the FOX network, including Master Chef, Master Chef Jr., Next Level Chef, and Hell's Kitchen.

Kitchen Nightmares is about the award-winning chef traveling the country to failing restaurants. In an attempt to save the restaurant, Ramsay tastes the food and surveys the flow of the kitchen. Ramsay usually remodels the restaurant at the show's end, turning the failing establishment into a thriving restaurant.

The show is known for Ramsay harshly criticizing the restaurant and its owner, often including an exchange of curses and heated words between Ramsay and the stubborn owner of the establishment. Ramsay also exposes the not-so-sanitary conditions of the kitchen, sometimes ending with Ramsay closing down the whole restaurant.

By the show's end, the owner typically owns up and comes to a resolution with the acerbic chef, giving in to Ramsay's suggestions.

Why was Kitchen Nightmares Canceled?

The show ran for seven seasons between 2007 to 2014. Ramsay himself canceled the show. According to an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ramsay withdrew his show after filming with a chef who gave him a hard time.

"I canceled my show on Fox, Kitchen Nightmares. I woke up in the middle of the south of France after filming a week with a British guy I wouldn't trust to run my bath, let alone my restaurant," said Ramsay. "Because he was running a ski resort, he felt he could take advantage of all those customers because there was nowhere to eat. He was giving me (expletive) for telling him the truth, and I thought, "I'm done."
